What is Channeling?

For those unfamiliar with channeling, I will try to explain my role in the process. We do not know for sure how this process works,  but the best way I can describe it is to compare it to a restaurant. My higher Spirit Guides are like the Maître’ d of the restaurant. They open the door to those loved ones on the Other Side who wish to communicate with friends and family here on the Earth plane.  I have put out word in a meditation to my Guides that I will be channeling for a certain person at a specific date and time. My Spirit Guides arrange to have those who wish to come through available to talk with me at the time of the channeling session. They also moderate how many can come through and the duration, based on what information needs to be communicated and how much energy I have to channel. In this process I am the waiter. Your loved ones cook the food (the messages) and I deliver them to your table. You can choose to eat the food (accept the information) or pass on it (ignore the information.) It is that simple. Luckily, most people want the information and embrace the chance to reconnect with their loved ones.

When I begin to channel, I will ask my guides to begin allowing the flow of spirits to enter my consciousness. I will see and hear these spirits with my mind. They appear to me as shadows, sometimes with color, sometimes without. Their appearance is not as important as their message, so I will next ask them to start sending those messages which are most important for my client to hear. Sometimes this information is as simple as a name and a validation that that person is alright and safe on the Other Side. Those spirits who will come through stronger are typically those who have been gone longer from the Earth. Detailed messages and even full conversations will usually come from these souls.

Love and  humor are two very strong emotions that come through often in a channeling. I have been privy to some very funny interchanges between the living and their loved ones on the Other Side. Emotions like sadness and despair seem to be reserved for those of us here on the Earth. I rarely encounter such feelings from our Spirit Guides in Heaven.

One of the most important things about a channeling happens after the session. One needs to learn to put to good use the information that has been channeled. Remember, our Guides will often tell us that they guide, they do not decide. Every life choice is up to you. You make all the decisions in your lifetime and don’t expect your unseen friends to do all of your life work either. Your Guides are there to help, not to do the work for you!

Channeling is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. Helping people to reconnect with loved ones, and understand that life is much more than the four walls we see around us, is a gift I feel blessed to have been given. Sometimes channeling is like trying to hold a conversation with several people at once while standing in rough surf. However, by the time I am done, it is all worth it. If you think it’s time for you to reconnect with your Spirit Guides, give my office a call and we will set up a date for a personal channeling session.
